There are many practices one need to imbibe in order to reduce the risk of being attacked by malicious agents. These include but not limited to the following practices;
- Do not bypass policy or process
- Do not change or share information without approval
- Follow policy and procedures for validating user’s identity
- Do not write your password down as it can be seen by someone
- Do not allow others to use your corporate computer or accounts
- Be skeptical of email links, attachments and unsolicited or unexpected calls
- Do not click links in unexpected emails, text messages or messages suspicious application
- Do not install unauthorized software or suspicious applications on your computing devices.
- Do not permit unknown or insecure devices to connect to the same network – wireless or wired.
- Do not reveal your personal or company confidential information to the public especially on the internet
