Encryption

Encryption is the process of converting plaintext data into unreadable ciphertext to protect it from unauthorized access. It ensures confidentiality, integrity, and authenticity of data, making it a crucial aspect of cybersecurity.

Encryption uses algorithms and keys to transform data, making it unintelligible to unauthorized parties. Common types of encryption include symmetric, asymmetric, and hashing. Encryption is used to secure data in transit (HTTPS) and at rest (disk encryption).

It also enables secure communication protocols like VPNs and PGP. Effective encryption renders data useless to attackers, even if they gain access to it. As cyber threats evolve, encryption remains a powerful tool for safeguarding sensitive information, making it an essential component of any cybersecurity strategy. By adopting encryption, organizations can protect their data and maintain the trust of their customers and stakeholders
