Breaches represents inappropriate act or intrusion with aim to expose what is supposed to be secured or secluded from third party. Cyber breaches are seen as failure to keep confidential data or private information of clients out of third party discovery without their permission. Most of these cyber breaches happen due to lack of cybersecurity hygiene, code execution flaws or internal-threats.
Cyber-attack that leads to cyber-breaches has been the order of the day and is globally growing on daily basis. Compromised establishments stand the risk of entering into serious litigations depending on the gravity of what was disclosed or taken away from the breached incident; it can go as far as degrading the reputation of the company and paying out huge amount in compensation to the affected clients.

In 2017 Equifax USA was breached due to vulnerability in their un-patched Apache Struts server. Private records of millions of Americans along with British citizens and thousands of Canadian citizens were compromised making it one of the largest cybercrimes related to identity theft.
In March 2022 Texas Department of Insurance suffered data breach due to programming code error in the department’s web application and almost 2 million Texans Social Security Numbers and other personal information were disclosed.
In July 2022, a hacker, on hacker’s forum, displayed information of millions of Twitter accounts for sale. Prior to this, another hacker did the same on personal data of millions of Neopets accounts on the same forum. In both breaches, the hackers exploited vulnerabilities to scrape the data from the website.
The ever evolving cyber-attacks landscape has forced many institutions to seek ways to reduce the occurrence of this growing global threat in their workspace by investing significant amount of resources in cybersecurity framework to the tune that is commensurate to what they intend to protect.
