DeepFakes

Deepfakes leverage on the emerging technologies being powered by artificial intelligence (AI) under Deep Learning. It represent AI generated fake audios, videos, or images that can be used to produce convincing contents . The term “deepfake” comes from combination of “deep learning” and “fake.”

The technology uses concept of machine learning algorithms to analyze and mimic the characteristics of an individual or victim’s voice, face and gesticulations. Deepfakes technology can allow attackers to create convincing fake content(s) that can be used for malicious purposes as in;

You can try to protect yourself from becoming a victim by being careful and cautious when consuming online contents. Verify the correctness of information via reputable sources, and watch out for suspicious or unusual messages or requests.

Deepfake constitute a significant threat to both individuals and organizations in this fast changing world driven by emerging technologies.
